Permissions

The macOS application of VOXRAD requires specific permissions to function correctly.

Permissions to Add to

  1. Control "System Events":

"VOXRAD" wants access to control "System Events". Allowing control will provide access to documents and data in "System Events", and to perform actions within that app.

    • Explanation: This permission is required because the application uses AppleScript to directly inject text into the editor, rather than relying on the clipboard.

  2. Microphone Access:

"VOXRAD" would like to access the microphone. Please provide access to your microphone for voice recording.

    • Explanation: This permission is required to enable dictation for report creation.

  3. Documents Folder Access:

"VOXRAD" would like to access files in your Documents folder.

    • Explanation: This permission is required to set up the templates folder.

  4. Keystroke Access from Any Application:

"VOXRAD" would like to receive keystrokes from any application. Grant access to this application in Security & Privacy preferences, located in System Preferences.

    • Explanation: This permission is required for the listener to detect when the shortcut is triggered, allowing the application to inject text into the editor.

Kindly note that, since v0.3.0-beta, the application now needs further Permissions, and some of them may not be prompted (due to Apple Security) but rather need to be given explicitly in System Preferences → Security & Privacy → Privacy → Accessibility. Similarly for Input Monitoring.
