# Step 2: Press Start Recording

1. Ensure your microphone is connected and functioning properly.
2. Locate the "Record" button.
3. Before pressing record, take a moment to:
   * Review any relevant patient information and images
   * Organize your thoughts on the report structure
4. When ready, click the "Record" button to begin.
5. You should see:
   * A visual indicator that recording has started (e.g., Recording 🔴 as application status)
   * A waveform display showing your audio is being recorded.

6. You can press the "Pause" button, to attend to any distraction of review the images again, and press the same button, which has now toggled to "Resume".
7. Begin dictating your report clearly and at a steady pace.
8. Remember to:
   * Speak clearly and enunciate words, especially medical terms
   * Use the structure suggested by your chosen template
   * Include all relevant findings and observations

**Tip**: Try to keep your recording under 15 minutes to ensure optimal processing. For longer reports, consider breaking them into sections with multiple recordings.

VOXRAD automatically attempts to decrease the size of the recorded audio files (if it is size is more than 25 MB), by reducing bitrate. To keep the audio quality, it will not lower the bitrate below 64 kbps.
